Global Goals

End extreme poverty. Fight inequality & injustice. Fix climate change. We could achieve all of this through the 17 global goals, on which 193 world leaders of the UN have committed. At the time of the expo there is only 5 years left to reach these goals. The only way we are able to reach this is through global awareness.

Awareness through attention.

We propose to use the immense amount of visitors and the global relevance of the expo to create awareness for the global goals. The visitors experience the importance of awareness in a pavilion that reacts to attention. The pavilion starts to live with the attention people give it. Individual attention translates to personalized information, all the personalized information put together transforms the building itself, changing both the the inner atmosphere and the structural outlook. As a result, the visitor becomes aware of both the global goals and the importance of giving this information attention.

Experience.

The pavilion’s main goal is to spread the word about the global goals. Firstly, the visitors get an overall view of the subject. Than in a concatenation of 17 subjects visitors can choose to give attention to specific subjects on their own phase, in a set order. This linear routing provides a full experience for every visitor. For every goal we provide information to the visitor, about what has been achieved and what still has to happen in the coming 5 years. While people pay attention to specific information the collection of information starts expanding. Video’s start playing, graphs extend & more detailed information pops up. To strengthen this effect the room itself transforms along with the information. The more visitors pay attention, more starts happening in movement and provided information. The pavilion comes alive.

Data input.

To keep track of peoples interest, we plan on tracking peoples eye-movement through a series of cameras. The collection of this data adds up to the location and movement of the visitors attention.
